Jake Shields Signs With WSOF

Recent UFC welterweight contender Jake Shields, who was shockingly released from his contract, has signed with the new home of UFC cast-offs, World Series of Fighting. If tradition is followed, Shields will look to fight as soon as possible for his new employers on the NBC Sports Network.

Ultimate Warrior Jim Helwig Passes Away

Though this is technically not MMA news, it is important news. WWE legend and recent hall of fame inductee The Ultimate Warrior has passed away. Warrior died of a heart attack while leaving his hotel in Phoenix with his wife. He had been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday and attended Wrestlemania and Raw over the long weekend. He was 54 years old.

Melvin Guillard Signs With WSOF

Recent UFC lightweight cast-off did not stay on the open market for long. Melvin has officially signed with World Series of Fighting and will be looking to get back to work as soon as possible.

Alistair Overeem Takes On New Management, Joins Team Jackson

UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem has left the Blackzilians in Florida to join Greg Jackson's team in New Mexico. Leaving the Blackzilians also means that the Reem will have to find new management, as the Blackzilians tend to provide one-stop shopping for fighters in terms of training camp and management. Though no deal has been announced, it is assumed that the Reem will sign with VFM Management, who handles several fighters at Greg Jackson's team.
